What are the symptoms of BPD? People often feel very worried about being abandoned. People also experience very intense eomtions that last from a few hours to a few days. You do not have a strong sense of who you are. You can also find it difficult to keep stable relationships in the long run.

You have suicidal thoughts. You feel empty and lonely.

Here at You Matter we are not experts. But we do know how important all individuals on this earth are. You MATTER if you ever feel down; suicidal; depressed or are experiencing any of the symptoms we detail on this site please.

You Do Not Have a Bad Personality. It understandable to feel like you're being told that who you are is "wrong". BPD does not mean you are a bad person nor that you have a bad personality.

Everyone has positive and negative personality traits, and we all have feelings and behaviours that can be useful at times and a problem at others. But if you experience BPD, some of your feelings or behaviours might be so difficult for you to manage that they're stopping you from living your life as you'd like to.

What does "borderline" mean?

This term borderline personality disorder came out in the past, doctors used to think that you could be on the orderline between psychosis and "neurotic mental health problems". Professionals don't talk about mental health like this anymore, so if you get a diagnosis of BPD it can be hard to understand what it means.

I have BPD.

This can make being close to me a challenge at times

It doesn't mean I'm a bad person though, Or that I'm not worth your effort. I have a lot of hatred for myslef, but a hell of a lot of love to give.
