Trees & Bushes Planted For Tree Week
Today the 5th years spent the day planting ornamental trees, bushes and fruit trees with Ms.Morrisey all around the school grounds as part of National Tree Week 2014.
In the morning an expert arrived with the trees and planned where would be the most suitable locations to place them all around the grounds. They then proceeded to plant them with his assistance. This was done in conjunction with the plantation of The Green Team's Garden which in the coming months will supply the Home Economics Room with sufficent fruit and veg to reduce the food miles by planting our required foods in the school grounds. We also hope that in the coming years that the fruit bushes and trees will supply enough fruit and veg for the Home Economics Room while the Garden will supply it with Vegtables and Herbs. This was done in conjunction with the Green Team Campaign and the Green Schools Campaign.
